The Company was founded by the group of engineers in the Silicon Valley in 2003. Most noticeable co-founder is Elon Musk, who previously was known for owning and participating in businesses such as the PayPal and Zip2 and is one of the key figures minds in the making of the company’s vision and goals for the car market. The Inspiration for the company name comes after Nikola Tesla, who was the patentee of the AC induction motor, around which the powertrain, used in Tesla’s cars, is built.

Back at the 2003 the goal for the company was clear – Develop and produce all-electric, zero-emission car with incredible power, torque whilst not compromising the range.
The top-management has chosen the route which is in itself is really disruptive – enter the market with the luxury car, that will be expensive (due to lack of experience and economies of scales) and through gaining the experience and “weight” in the market, by introducing new models, gain market share and provide the zero-emission automobile for any kind of the budget.......

As the group, we went on the fascinating journey discovering the future that the automobile industry is promising to bring. We are excited to see the technological advances that are happening in this decade, and, surely, are even more excited to see what dominant design in the automobile industry will look like by the 2030. In our opinion, Tesla is one of the most interesting companies on the market at the moment, that does innovation at its finest in multiple fields simultaneously. While, as the group, analyzing and studying the automobile industry for this group research project, we had no more doubts that Mr. Musk is on the right path. It is fascinating to see how an individual with great vision, can transform it into the idea and gradually implement it in life, so that the whole of the industry starts to pivot and follows the thoughts of a great visionary. Tesla is definitely a vary innovative company, that is only about reveal its full potential in the future.
